WPDer: “The Professor” Reflection

“As mysterious and miraculous as it all may seem, God has His own way of minding the soul.”

In many ways, WPD (whole person development) has been a life-changing experience for me and the men who I am proud to call my family. It is accurate to say that training and competing alongside others has a way of creating a bond between people. It is often those with who we share our blood, sweat, and tears that we trust the most. It is through the selfless hearts of others and the trials of this life that I have grown as a man, a son, a bother, a friend, a student, and an athlete. As mysterious and miraculous as it all may seem, God has His own way of minding the soul.

WPD gives young God-fearing men the opportunity to become connected with their respected brothers in Christ. This gives the induvial image-bearer a chance to know and to be known by others. Why is this important? “As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.” Proverbs 27:17. WPD opened my eyes to a much more holistic view of life and recognized that every single person you meet on the street bears the image of God. Every unique soul, young or old, is precious to the Lord who created it. This includes you! If you are an athlete who wants an opportunity to grow in your faith, then this is a wonderful place to start.
