WPDer: “G-Man” Reflection

“So often people neglect their heart and soul.”

WPD was a time and space to get insight both from a leader who was older and more experienced than myself, and from peers who offered various perspectives about life. Some nights were more serious than others. Often, we just hung out and relaxed, “smoked” some pretzel sticks and drank BodyArmor. Some nights relaxing was the point. Sometimes it doesn’t take much to recharge and grow with others both socially and spiritually. WPD helped me grow in both areas.

So often people neglect their heart and soul. Doing so impacts our relationship with God. People can get so caught up in their commitments that they never slow down. They never listen to their hearts and hardly listen to God. There is a lot of value in slowing down, and I appreciated that “slower” time with others in WPD.

At times I do wish we went deeper in some areas. There were natural walls or barriers for sure. I guess the main issue was time. Some walls you can’t pass through or break down in just two years. Despite this reality, the WPD guys were great friends. I predict that several if not all will be my lifelong buddies.
