After five years and many miles on a local golf course, I needed…just really needed…to retire my Asics GT-1000 4 PR (pink ribbon shoes). I retired them once after my father-in-law passed. I placed them on the front porch of his house. Everyone knew the meaning, so they were respected. Two months later my mother-in-law passed. While visiting, I decided to reclaim the shoes. The mourning period had passed. They were looking “good” for being so old. So back to the golf course. [Hmmm…some of this sounds like my last year on this planet.]
Shhh…listen-up. I have a replacement. The exact brand and model. You know the drill; you buy two on the cheap at the right place and time. Store one. Dang! I love running shoes. How about you?
Nearly two years later I now have decided to throw them out. Out the door. Into the trash. Not to hover around the other lawn-mowing shoes. Kind of hard. Really silly. But some will understand. – Dr. M.
