Heads-up collegiate athletes. Veterans. Newbies. It’s a new year.
Regardless of your school, you will get the invitation to party. Historically, that invitation may come as early as Thursday.
So decide now what you will do. Here is a perspective. It’s rather direct.
Q: In part, will you seek shallow affirmation by those seeking the same?
Q: In part, will you become vulnerable to those equally vulnerable?
Why make a big deal of it?
You have one life. You have responsibility to yourself, your family, your team, your coaches, and God (whether you buy that or not). Kind of a big deal.
Consider. There is only ONE you. Created in the image of God. Same for those behind that party invitation.
Decide. Make the choice to pass on the invites.
Find friends that support your choice. Enjoy your sport with a clear heart, soul, mind, and strength in season and out of season. No regrets.
Press on…
